These areas are the main inspiration for my quilts.<\/p>\n<p>My work is mainly landscape. \u00a0I love walking and taking photographs which I use to inspire my work, hoping that the feel of the areas will come across in my quilts.<\/p>\n<p>My current work is inspired by the landscape of East Anglia \u2013 \u00a0the broad view and the intimate detail of real and sometimes imagined landscapes. \u00a0 In looking and contemplation, the imagery used in the work is varied and highly personal, reflecting the landscape, and hoping to engage viewers with a sense of time and place.<\/p>\n<p>Having made pieced quilts for many years, I am now concentrating on whole cloth quilts. \u00a0I put colour on to cotton and linen cloth with thickened Procion dye, in a variety of ways. \u00a0I quilt by hand and machine.<\/p>\n<p>My work has been included in the following recent exhibitions:<\/p>\n<p>Europe \u00a02017\/18 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Quilt in SAQA \u00a0Made in Europe I touring Europe for 1 year<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Quilts 2017 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Stone + Water + Wood Exhibition<\/p>\n<p>USA 2016\/17 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Quilt in SAQA \u00a0Made in Europe I toured USA for 1 year.<\/p>\n<p>Japan 2016 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Quilt shown at Osaka<\/p>\n<p>Studio Art Quilts Assoc. 2015 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Quilt juried into The Wide Horizons IV exhibition-2yrs in USA<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Quilts 2014 &amp; 2015 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Quilt juried into The Fine Art Quiltmasters exhibition<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Quilts 2014 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Quilt juried into the European Art Quilts VII exhibition<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Quilts 2010 &amp; 2012 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Winner of The Quilters\u2019 Guild Challenge<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a well-established, award-winning artist. \u00a0My work has been exhibited around the world.
